Butwal Power's new joint venture company now to build 600 MW Upper marshyangdi-2 and 282 MW Manang marshyangdi
Butwal Power Company has notified Nepse regarding the recent agreement.
As per the agreement, Butwal Power Company, SCIG International Nepal Hydro Joint Company and other 3 chinese companies have jointly purchased the entire shares of "Himtaal Hydropower Limited". For this purpose, the agreement has been done with the foreign shareholder of himtaal hydopower limited i.e. GMR Energy Limited and the domestic shareholder company. The treaty has been signed on 21st Baisakh, 2075. Butwal power company will have a 19.4% holding in the new company whereas the rest will be held by the chinese companies.
Himtaal Hydropower Limited is Project company that was to build 600 MW upper Marshyangdi-2 in Marshyangdi river.
Similarly, the same newly formed joint venture company has acquired the entire shares of Manang Marshyangdi Hydropower Company Pvt. Ltd.. The acquired company is the company that was to build 282 MW Manang marshyangdi hydropower. For this purpose the agreement has been signed with the domestic shareholder on 15th Chaitra, 2074 and with foreign shareholder of the company i.e. Rajratna Energy Holdings Pvt. Ltd. on 12th Chaitra, 2074.
